About Mango Grove

Mango Grove at Bancal River's guesthouse at night

Mango Grove at Bancal River (MGBR) is a 24-hectare piece of fertile, verdant land bound on one side by a 16.5-km pristine river, Bancal River. It is owned and operated by ABS CBN Lingkod Kapamiya Foundation, Inc, which is the philanthropic arm of the ABS CBN Broadcast Network.

Apart from MGBR being your home away from home, 81 families also reside here. These families were originally displaced by the Mount Pinatubo eruption in 1991. Today, they staff our guest house, maintain their farms, work as our river marshals, and, along the way, learn skills that will help them stand on their own feet.

MGBR is committed to alleviating the poverty in the whole of Iba through agricultural and eco-tourism. Our focus is on social entrepreneurship. In other words, we teach people how to make money, but in the universe of integrity and the common good.

In this light, MGBR is envisioned to be a showcase for small-scale, self-sustaining, working organic farm plots, a training center for the latest skills and technology relevant to organic farming, and an agri-tourism destination for the whole family in Iba, Zambales.
